J. Brooks Walk-A-Block | Clear Lake, Iowa | One Vision

Walk-A-Block for Autism

You are invited to join radio personality J. Brooks of 98.7 KISS Country and the One Vision Children's Autism Center to celebrate five years of autism awareness, advocacy, and acceptance at the annual J. Brooks Walk-A-Block fundraiser on April 15.

All proceeds from the walk go toward services provided by One Vision Children's Autism Center (CAC). Founded in 2013, the CAC supports more than 80 children and 100 North Iowa families, providing diagnostic services, behavioral consultation and therapy, social skills and support groups, community activities, and more.

This year’s event will be held from 1-3 p.m. at City Park in Clear Lake. At 1 p.m., a resource reception will be held in the Lakeview Room directly behind the City Park bandshell. Area autism supports and services will be present to visit and answer questions. There also will be on-site games and activities for kids and families.

The walk begins at 2 p.m. Following the walk, a balloon release will take place at the Clear Lake Sea Wall.

You are encouraged to register ahead of the walk by creating your own FirstGiving page where you can share your story and why you plan to walk. Walkers should share their page with family and friends and encourage others to sponsor them through donations. Walkers can create a team, join a team or walk on their own.

Online registration ends at 4 p.m. April 13. Registration will be available at the event from 1-2 p.m.

You are invited to join us April 14 for our inaugural Fort Dodge Walk-A-Block for Autism, an event designed to bring together everyone in our community to celebrate autism awareness, advocacy, and acceptance.
